Reimagine Recreate Restore
Written: 03 June 2021
Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.
Tomorrow is #WorldEnvironmentDay2021. Organised by the United Nations, it is a day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our planet.
This year they are encouraging all to become #GenerationRestoration - a generation that can make peace with nature. We cannot turn back time, but we can grow trees, green our cities, rewild our gardens, change our diets and clean up rivers and coasts.
In light of this green topic, we thought it would be appropriate to share some of our favourite eco-friendly makers from Find a Maker.
Click on the names below to find out more about each maker or meet them at the Craft Festivals 2021 - book your tickets here.

Hannah's 5 Favourites from Find a Maker
Loopy Ewes I hope I will get to see these gorgeous knits in person one day - such fabulous bright colours and blocky patterns, the designs look like a huge, warm hug in a jumper! And they create little environmental impact, using wool for their own flock, handspun and dyed locally.
Jeff Josephine I love Sophie's prints - gorgeous themes from nature. The colours and compositions have a folky edge and feel so wonderfully homely to me. They are joyful and so beautifully made.
Tiki by Cecile Gilbert I first came across Cecile's striking work at a Craft Festival event. I was drawn to her stunningly simple resin jewellery in a curated palette of muted brights - classic black and white mixed with pops of teal, mustard and orange with clean shapes, lines and contemporary candy stripes that are so wearable.
Teresa Green I met Teresa at Craft Festival in Bovey and I now have quite a collection of her work from skirts and bags to tea towels and a beautiful collage! I adore her use of strong abstract shapes screen-printed onto the fabrics she turns into gorgeous clothes and homewares in the most beautiful shades.
Penny Spooner Ceramics I really love Penny’s simple porcelain work - such pleasing shapes and beautiful dipped colours and her one-off black porcelain vessels are stunning.
