Nicola Werner Pottery

Ceramics

After studying Painting at Central School of Art, I was apprenticed to Alan Caiger-Smith at Aldermaston Pottery in 1982. This invaluable training enabled me to successfully set up my own workshop in 1986 and I have made a living working in the European majolica tradition ever since. Thrown, tin-glazed, painted and twice fired, the work is primarily functional, making 5 sizes of mugs, jugs, bowls for all occasions, plates and lamps. My work extends to inscribed celebratory pieces and tile commissions worldwide. My aim is to raise the game of the everyday. This rural Somerset pottery welcomes visitors by appointment..
