Combining cuttlefish and lost wax casting techniques, Lauren Bell-Brown creates unique jewellery pieces, embellished with ethically sourced gemstones set imperfectly within some pieces, portraying a seeming fragility and a transitory beauty. This inspiration came from the delicate florals of the gilded covers of her treasured collection of Victorian fairytale books and their timeworn faded colours, which brings a new element to her existing style of work. Like these books, she finds beauty in flowers that are past full bloom. The changes in colour, texture and the imperfections as they fade, and wilt can be seen in her new collection, 'Dark Bloom'..
