Holy Smoke offers a collection of unique sculptures and maquettes handcrafted from textiles, paper, wire and thread. Through an admiration of and a love of dogs, the making process has evolved, combining a Fine Art background and a passion for textiles and stitching. The neutral quality of linen works as a blank canvas on which to apply surface treatments using natural dyes, printing and stitching. Layering scraps of material and a limited palette, to create fragile, often threadbare textures with hanging threads and raw edges in an attempt to represent the unique spirit, fragility and character of dogs in their diverse forms and circumstances..
