Bronwen Gwillim
Non Precious Jewellery
Bronwen Gwillim makes bold, one-off pieces of statement jewellery from waste plastic that she picks up from the beaches in South Pembrokeshire where she lives. She uses colours, textures and forms inspired by the natural environment: pebbles, seaweed, shells, old boats and fossils. She plays on the edges where nature/ industry, treasured/discarded meet. Bright colours live alongside rounded shapes and surfaces that are weathered and worn and she brings in recycled silver to further confuse notions of preciousness..
