MEET THE MAKERS
Each year we ask what your favourite thing about coming to the Craft Festival is and each year you answer - meeting the makers! This year we have a fantastic group of over 100 talented, quality makers attending.
There is something so special about understanding the making process, hearing about the inspiration for design, and the unique shopping experience.

SAMANTHA RHODES' 5 FAVOURITES
Samantha is the Director at Bluecoat Display Centre. She has over 20 years' experience working in the contemporary crafts and applied arts at Bluecoat Display Centre.
Broughs Handwoven : Lovely contemporary approach for handwoven products with great colour palette and stylish functional pieces like the totes and clutch bags.
Jayne Armstrong : Modern beautiful wood pieces that can be used around the home but look good just decoratively too. Loved the candleholders - can't recall seeing such elegant wooden versions which are well priced.
GR Hawes Glass : Particularly like Graeme's cut slices of glass that show off his skill as well as the colour, faceting and textures with such optical impact.
Robyn Hardyman : Elegant and beautifully understated porcelain. I really like the way Robyn has added some slip trailed decoration to some pieces like the moon jars which as she says expresses the energy of the forms.
Katy Luxton : Katy's jewellery is for me the perfect example of how new technologies (3D printing) and the hand made can make for a really successful and beautifully sculptural range of wearable contemporary jewellery. The colour and energy of the forms are joyful.
